Ann Catherine Callan

This is my story

Back with Flowers

Way back when

90’s kid who made her world debut on June 15, in Croatia.

Grew up in an abusive household (down and dirty, straight away) in which my dad was addicted to alcohol, my mum was addicted to him.

Learned perfectionism, all things EQ, and performing for love early. VERY early.

Navigated childhood to the best of my abilities, thought that “She behaves so much older than she is” was a compliment. Erhm, guess again.

Didn’t really experience being a kid, so skipped to adolescence with mixed feelings of shame, anger, and abandonment.

Turned out to be a lesbian, never questioned it. (Yes, my parents did something well, I thank them for that.)

Coming of age

Moved to a different city, changed colleges, embraced new people. Was 100% sure my past is in my past; it never struck me it might follow.

Volunteered, volunteered, volunteered some more.
In between helping people organize their events, lives, and careers, worked as a Marketing Coordinator, Director, and Strategist. Sounds cool, and for me, it is.

Loved, lost, loved again. Without limits or boundaries, headfirst, into the deep end. Was surprised when I came up gasping for air.

Making a mess

Lost the job, the girl, the house.

Literally.

Spent three weeks in a cabin in the woods questioning my life (hello, Hollywood) and decided I was sick and tired. Primarily of myself shitting my life up.

Cleaning
Up

Woke up only to realize I have the complete and utmost control over what and who I accept in my life.

Started taking radical responsibility for me, myself, and I.
Stopped working myself into oblivion.

Peeled open the pages of every book I could find on how to be a better human, living a wholesome life, and embracing, evolving, and loving every layer our being has. (It helped.)

Promised I’ll stop avoiding things, people, conversations that made me go silent oh-kay in the past, and I’ll start pursuing those that made me go loud ye-ahhh.

Stopped seeking answers in others and started creating them on my own (aka embraced the quest of an ever-evolving life and stepping into my own awesomeness).

Connecting the (wonder) dots

Leaned into the new space of acceptance, love, and worthiness and decided to share the feeling.

Started appreciating the struggles, the pressure, the culture that shaped me into who I am today.

Started writing. Continued writing. Eventually shared it.
Connected the dots - literally - and allowed myself to create this little thing called “The Wonder Dot”. (Welcome, I love that you’re here.)

Today?

I am committed to allowing myself to dream better things for myself - without the pressure of what others feel, think or want.

I’m proud to be working on creating products, programs, and podcasts that aspire to invite you to live authentically. As it turned out, my struggles were a gift. I hope I help you find yours, too

It turns out, the best thing I’ve done was loving myself.

So, who is Ann Catherine Callan?

Mirror

Ann Catherine is not my real name. It’s a byproduct of my imagination — a character I developed to lean into the braver, bolder, more courageous version of myself. Someone I step into every time I think I lack the grit, tenacity, audacity, or simply put, balls (yes, I said that) to go after what I think I deserve.

It is my own personal Sasha Fierce, and I strongly believe we all have it. Whether we name our spunk or not, the backbone we need to stand tall is already within us. We just need to learn to embrace it.

Ann Catherine Callan helped me bear witness to my past and create a future I am now proud to live in - I am happy to help you do the same.

Where do Ann Catherine Callan and my real name meet?

Arrow List

Arrow List

In the vulnerability of being.

Arrow List

In the freedom of rewriting the ending.

I’ve reached a place of continuous growth and discovery — and I want to help you understand that you, too, get to choose, change, and evolve.

This is why I created The Wonder Dot

Hug

My story matters.
Your story matters.
Every story matters - it is a testament to who you are as a human being.

Especially if you’ve been told otherwise.

Everything that happens to us impacts us deeply.
But we can embrace our experiences — even the painful ones — and use them as a springboard for growth.

I know what it’s like to feel completely lost.

Arrow List

To struggle to find a way.

Arrow List

To take one step forwards, three steps back.

Arrow List

To go on a journey to find that missing something — only to come back to ourselves, and find it waiting right there.

I’d like to help you journey within, and find those strengths you already have inside.

Why I called it The Wonder Dot

won·der

/ˈwəndər/

(noun): simple daily moments of inspiration

The Wonder Dot is about finding those moments and using them to connect the dots.

Because there’s a big difference between existing and living.
We all want to live a better life.
But we often go through each day Just. Getting. Through.
And while we’re surviving, we miss living.

Real living happens in those moments of wonder —
the warmth of the blowdryer against your wet hair, the tart sweetness of an orange on the beach, the simple joy of letting go of everything else and just laughing with your closest friends.

When we recognize the beauty in the simplicity and connect with it...in that moment we also acknowledge ourselves.

And we become more whole.

Glass

And what is more whole, more balanced than a circle?

That’s where the dot comes in.
A complete, symmetrical symbol that has no beginning, no end. It just is.

Since the beginning of time, scholars and mystics alike have found something mysterious, almost godlike in the circle.
That’s what we need to search for in our own lives.

The moments of connection and beauty — they’ll ultimately help us connect our own dots and find our wholeness.
